EVEC Customer Testimonials

We were delighted with the results of Vision Therapy for our 11-year-old son.  Through the diligence of Elizabeth and Carol working with him, encouraging him to keep up with his exercises, and making the appointments a positive experience for him, he was thrilled with the results that he was now reading at a 13-year-old level.  It boosted his confidence greatly.  We appreciate the friendly and professional appointments with Dr. Gabriel – our son looked forward to seeing her!  Thank you!

When I was in fifth grade I was in a car accident, in which I received a whiplash that affected my vision.  At first I went in to be fitted for glasses, but after wearing these for six months, I found they were affecting my life.  I have been playing violin and piano for nine years, and it was difficult to focus with glasses.   Furthermore, I take dance and my glasses became a problem when dancing, for they were prone to falling off, or slipping around.  I went back in to see Dr. Schaefer to see if there were other options.  Although I was too young for contacts, he recommended I go through vision therapy.  After just six months of eye exercises, I was able to stop wearing my glasses, and after a couple more my vision had advanced beyond 20/20.  I am so thankful for everyone who I worked with, all of whom were so kind and understanding.  It really was an experience that changed my life.

My family and I have been coming to Eagle Vision for over 20 years.  We moved to Cheyenne WY thirteen years ago.   We tried several other eye doctors, and I felt the care was much better at Eagle Vision.  So other than the short try at other providers, it is well worth our time to drive almost 100 miles just to see the smiling faces we trust at Eagle Vision & Eye Clinic.  Keep up the good work!

For years, Eagle Vision has been my eye care clinic for both contact lens care and eye glasses.  The friendly staff works around my schedule to book appointments.  Also, I never feel rushed and the doctor listens to my concerns, offers options and explains procedures.  Finally, insurance coverage is handled by the office billing department.  These are the reasons I return to Eagle Vision & Eye Clinic.

I have been a patient of Dr. Schaefer for over 6 years.  I am a long-term contact lens wearer who was experiencing frustrating changes in my vision (I needed reading glasses) and dry eyes due to allergies.  He thoroughly explained all options as we “peeled back the onion” on my issues, and conscientiously worked with me to resolve them.  There was never a surprise, and any problems I had were promptly taken care of.  I am indebted to him for his thorough care.

The staff at Eagle Vision & Eye Clinic is always friendly, pleasant, and efficient.  Being a busy mom, what I REALLY appreciate is that the entire staff is always on time!  Unlike some other eye clinics I’ve gone to, I have never been kept waiting for an appointment, and my appointments move along smoothly and efficiently from station to station.  I’d recommend Eagle Vision & Eye Clinic to anyone.

I NEEDED A NEW PAIR OF GLASSES AND A NEW OPTICIAN!
It was time for a new pair of glasses and since I moved to another location, I also needed a new optician.  I remember driving past an optical building with the name of Eagle Vision & Eye Clinic, P.C. and decided to make an appointment with an optician.  I called and the receptionist set me up with an optician named Monica.  She then transferred my phone call to Monica, and I began to describe my needs and desires required for my eyesight condition.  I have fairly bad vision and also require a clip-on sun glass shade during the daylight hours.  My first impression with Monica was as follows: She was polite and at the same time very professional.  She assured me that the clinic had a vast array of choices that could meet my needs.  I made an appointment with Monica for the same day.

Monica was right; I found the frame and sun glass clip within about 5 minutes that met my needs.  The rest is history.  I cannot believe how clear and vivid both day and night viewing is now available to me.  These are by far the best pair of glasses I have ever owned.  I would highly recommend “Eagle Vision & Eye Clinic” to anyone in need of a pair of glasses.

I have been a client of Dr. Larry Forrest at Eagle Vision & Eye Clinic for about thirteen years.  I am always treated well by the staff and technicians.  Dr. Forrest, especially, always explains in detail whatever problem I may be facing.  He has been most reassuring.

Our son, Michael, started having difficulties in school in the fifth grade.  His grades went down and a host of behavioral issues became apparent.  My wife and I went through many parent-teacher discussions, meetings with principals, counseling, Woodcock-Johnson testing, hearing exams, cajoling, etc.  It was a frustrating and disappointing time in my son's life.  He came to dread going to school.  We know he is a bright, creative fellow, but the academic environment was challenging.  We found little constructive help from the school system. Many had labeled Mike, and were glad when he moved along.      In August of 2005, on the suggestion of a friend, we came to Eagle Eye and Vision Clinic.  We met with Dr. Susan Moon.  Michael was tested in the Vision Therapy Program.  In eight broad visual acuity tests, he scored out as reading at the 5 to 8-year-old level.  The muscles in his eyes were not adequately tracking in the vertical plane.  Michael has 20/20 vision, but had lived with a minor disability all his life.  He had gotten by in school with his native intelligence and faking the fact that he couldn't read what he was asked to read.
Michael visited the clinic once a week and worked with Elizabeth Simpson, with whom he developed a solid rapport. She guided and encouraged him with a progressive series of exercises, strengthening his eye coordination and eye-brain linkage.  Mike spent 20-40 minutes 5-6 times a week at home, working on his eye exercises. His brother, Eric, and his parents took turns working with Mike.  Many days he did it on his own.  After ten weeks, Mike was re-tested without showing much improvement.  Elizabeth said that there would be a marked improvement when he was tested again at twenty weeks.  There was.  Michael scored as reading as a 13-year-old on the same eight categories he was originally tested on the prior summer.  For the first time in his life, Michael was seeing and reading what his peers could see and read.  The look of pride
on his face, when Elizabeth told him of the findings, was priceless.
Since that time, Michael's grades in school have noticeable improved. His behavior has mellowed, even passing through eighth grade.  His self-esteem is noticeable higher.  Vision Therapy was the key that unlocked the door for our son, and has allowed him to progress in school and life feeling good about himself.  We cannot thank the folks at Eagle Vision Eye Clinic enough.
